Stand on the Word: Faith Is Not Based on Feeling

This sermon message was preached by Evangelist Ebenezer Udofia at Living Faith Apostolic Ministries. It has been adapted from the sermon portion of the video transcript into a detailed blog format for Bible study, Christian discipleship, local ministry outreach, and Google Ad Grants search visibility.

Faith is not determined by what we feel. Feelings can change from morning to evening. Circumstances can shift quickly. The body can be tired, the mind can be pressured, and the heart can feel weak. But biblical faith is built on something stronger than emotion: the settled Word of God.

This sermon reminded believers that the Word of the Lord is forever settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89 declares that God’s Word is established. Psalm 119:130 says the entrance of His words gives light and understanding. When the Word enters the heart, it brings life, direction, strength, and authority.

The message addressed a common struggle in the Christian life. Many believers pray general prayers but do not stand on specific Scripture. When the enemy attacks the mind, body, family, or faith, vague religious language may not bring confidence. But when a believer knows what God has said, prayer becomes anchored. The believer can say, “This is what the Word of God declares, and I am standing on it.”

The sermon used the example of laying hands on the sick. The point was not ceremony, but Scripture. If the Word says believers shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, then prayer is not empty motion. It is an act of faith based on the authority of God’s Word. Recovery may not always appear instantly, but faith holds fast because God is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23 teaches believers to hold fast without wavering, because He who promised is faithful. This is vital when the enemy twists the mind, brings confusion, or makes a believer feel like God will not answer. Satan’s attack often begins in the mind. He brings thoughts that are real, exaggerated, imagined, or confusing, trying to wear the believer down. But the Word of God strengthens the inner man.

Ephesians 3 speaks of being strengthened with might by the Spirit in the inner man. This is one of the most important needs in the Christian life. A person can look strong outwardly but be weak inwardly. A person can be busy, active, and visible but still need spiritual strengthening. The Holy Ghost works in the inner man so the believer can endure, resist, pray, believe, and obey.

The sermon also reminded us that the power of God is not for “special people” only. Jesus said, “If thou canst believe.” Mark 11 teaches believers to have the faith of God and speak to the mountain. God’s power is for the believer who stands on the Word, grows in the spirit, and refuses to let feelings become the final authority.

If you are searching for Bible teaching in Raleigh, an Apostolic Bible study, sermons on faith, or Christian encouragement when you feel weak, this message is for you. Your faith may produce feelings, but it is not based on feelings. Your faith is based on hearing, receiving, speaking, and obeying the Word of God.

At Living Faith Apostolic Ministries, we encourage believers to grow strong in Scripture, prayer, and the Holy Ghost. The Word of God is not just information. It is spirit and life. Speak the Word. Believe the Word. Pray the Word. Stand on the Word.

God is faithful to what He has promised.
