Families, communities, young people, neighbors, coworkers, and strangers all need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Kingdom of God grows when believers sow diligently. The church grows when sheep bring other sheep. The pastor feeds the sheep, but the people of God must invite, reach, love, call, text, pray, and bring others into the house of God. Evangelism is not only the work of a bishop, pastor, or outreach team. It is the responsibility of every born again believer.
The sermon asked practical questions: Who have you called? Who have you noticed has been absent? Who have you tried to reach through a text, phone call, or message? Who has God placed in your path during a conversation? Too often, believers overlook divine opportunities because they are busy, hungry, distracted, or afraid of rejection. But when God opens a door, the determined sower stays with the assignment.
A determined sower must be willing to face ridicule and opposition. Some people will not want to hear the Word of God. Some may resist, mock, or shut the conversation down. But the sower is not defined by immediate results. In the parable, some seed fell by the wayside, some on stony ground, some among thorns, and some on good ground. The sower still sowed.
That is a key lesson for Christian outreach. We cannot control every response, but we are responsible to sow faithfully. One conversation may not seem successful, but the seed may later come alive. One invitation may be rejected, but another may bring someone to church. One prayer may seem small, but heaven can use it.
Isaiah 55 teaches that God’s Word does not return void. Like rain and snow watering the earth, the Word accomplishes what God pleases. That means the believer can sow with confidence. The harvest belongs to God.
