This sermon message was preached by Evangelist Ebenezer Udofia at Living Faith Apostolic Ministries. It has been adapted from the sermon portion of the video transcript into a detailed blog format for Bible study, Christian discipleship, local ministry outreach, and Google Ad Grants search visibility.
Have you ever felt abandoned, overlooked, rejected, or forgotten? Many people know how to attend church, pray, read a verse, smile at others, and still quietly carry a deep feeling of loneliness. This sermon reminds us that the feeling of being forsaken is not something believers should ignore, pretend away, or cover with religious activity. It must be brought honestly before God.
The message centered on a powerful truth: you are not forsaken.
The sermon described abandonment as more than a passing emotion. It can come from loss, betrayal, trauma, neglect, disappointment, family pain, church hurt, or the feeling that nobody truly understands what you are carrying. Many believers have been told to simply be strong, but strength in the Lord does not mean denying the battle inside. Real strength comes when we bring our whole heart before Jesus Christ.
Matthew 27 shows that even Jesus, while suffering on the cross, cried out, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” This does not mean Jesus failed. It means the Son of God entered fully into the weight of human suffering. He knows what abandonment feels like. He knows what it means to be surrounded by people and still feel alone. He knows what it means for others to watch your pain and misunderstand what you are going through.
That is why the cross is not only the place of forgiveness. It is also the place where the spirit of abandonment was defeated.
When Jesus cried with a loud voice and gave up the ghost, the veil of the temple was torn, the earth shook, rocks split, and graves were opened. The sermon emphasized that even the grave, the place that represents being forgotten and left behind, could not hold back life when Jesus overcame. The message was clear: if the grave had to release, then your mind, your heart, your family, your health, your faith, and your future can also receive life again.
This is an important word for anyone searching for Christian encouragement, prayer for loneliness, healing from rejection, or a Bible based sermon about feeling abandoned. The answer is not empty religion. The answer is Jesus Christ.
Luke 22 gives another look at the struggle Jesus faced before the cross. In Gethsemane, He prayed in agony. His disciples were nearby, yet they slept. He was not only facing physical suffering; He was facing the weight of the cup before Him. Still, His prayer was, “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” An angel appeared and strengthened Him.
That is a word for every believer. You can be in agony and still be strengthened by God. You can feel alone and still be in the will of God. You can be surrounded by silence and still be heard in heaven.
At Living Faith Apostolic Ministries, we believe Jesus Christ is able to bring life into the places where people feel deserted, rejected, or forgotten. The Lord can restore hope in the mind. He can bring peace into the heart. He can renew faith in the spirit. He can remind you that you are loved, seen, and called.
